About the Social Correspondence Chess Association

The SCCA is an organisation that provides quality correspondence chess to players of all standards. Formed in 1940, the SCCA is proud to have served the correspondence chess community for over 60 years.

Members may play in a wide variety of club tournaments that include our Club Championship, Continuous Tournament, Knockout Competition, Internet Server Tournament, and a chance to become league champion in our annual League Tournament.SCCA teams play in many competitions, these include the British Correspondence Chess Team Championship, British Correspondence Chess League, the Scottish League, and the SchemingMind Standard Chess League.

Within the SCCA you will find like-minded friends who wish to enjoy the game of correspondence chess. We offer a range of services that include a quarterly magazine and a grading list.

The SCCA is also a founder member of the British Federation of Correspondence Chess (BFCC). This allows our members to play in both National Tournaments through the BFCC and International Tournaments through the International Correspondence Chess Federation (ICCF)
